LOVE the map. Now, I know exactly where you are in the world. ;) The first thing I noticed was the terrific way you did the title. I might have to lift that idea from you. Super cool page.
Journaling: This is at the Barton Warnock Visitor's Center and serves as the eastern entrance for Big Bend Ranch State Park. The Center was built in 1982 by the Lajitas Foundation as the Lajitas Museum Desert Gardens. Texas Parks and Wildlife purchased it in October 1990 and renamed the center after Dr. Barton Warnock, a well-respected botanist, specializing in the Big Bend region. The Center serves as the eastern entrance gateway to Big Bend Ranch State Park and interprets 570 million years of geological history and the five biological landscapes of the Chihuahuan Desert, a region better known to most West Texas travelers as the Big Bend.
We thoroughly enjoyed this museum which was filled with interesting exhibits and information. We walked through reading the signs and looking at the exhibits. After a while my back started to tire out – luckily I was near the end. So I went through the last exhibits quickly and went outside to the courtyard to sit and rest.
