We inherited a number of small trinkets symbolizing Grandpa Mickey's years in the Army during World War II, but unfortunately along with them we inherited my mother in law's filing system - meaning they're scattered around the house in a variety of jewelry boxes and plastic bags. I wanted a special place to keep Mickey's keepsakes together - his Jewish War Veterans lapel pin, service medals, and the like. I also wanted to keep some of the photos of him during his service, so I scanned and reprinted a number of the photos we have and printed them out to make a small accordion album also to be housed in the treasure box.
This is the box a scrapbooking tool came in. I tossed the tool but kept the box for future altering :) The inside had some black foam with cut shapes for storing pieces of the tool. I discarded one piece, but kept one piece that will work for holding pins.
The top slides out - in this view, the box is partially opened.
