My Week 4 ATG Challenge for "Hunt For Happiness" Week

Specs were to create a happiness vision board using at least three photos and four of the 31 types of happiness defined by the Society of Happy People

The words I chose were ~ Blessed, Giving, Joyful, Kindness, Love, Nostalgic, Thankful

I started with the word nostalgia to create my base. I used scraps from the papers I used when I was teaching heritage classes at my local scrap book store. The little heart brads were ones that I had my students use on every page we did. I have lots of them left! The store has been gone for about 8 years, so I definitely feel nostalgic about those classes, my students, and that store. It was a lot of fun teaching there.

The checked flower is one of four that I created for a layout that I did in 2011 to celebrate my first ride on Java. I've been riding her for almost 10 years now, and so that's definitely nostalgic to think about.

When my husband and I were dating, he surprised me with a delivery of a dozen roses delivered to the school where I was teaching. I didn't read French, so I didn't know what the card said, but I'm smarter now and I know Je T'aime means "I love you," which would be the very first time he told me.

Giving is reflected in the red flourish, which is one of two that I cut when I created the project for my friend Judy to thank her for the use of her horse trailer.

Joy - The Bob Ross quote has always made me smile, and I have had nesting bluebirds in my yard for several years. They don't do anything but bring me joy every time I pull into my driveway and see them flying around my yard.

I'm blessed with two daughters, but my younger one is very in tune with me the past couple of years. We've become friends on an adult level, and we set aside Sundays to spend time together doing fun things. She's warm, caring, and giving of her time and our relationship has deepend over the past year into one that I can say now she is one of my best friends.

I have been blessed and I'm so very thankful to have good friends in people like Judy, and John (who put Java's first 90 days on her so that she was ready for me to ride on my 55th birthday). But my dearest friend is Erica. And she is the reason I'm sitting on that big gray horse - one that she found in her veterinary travels, one whose owner was looking for a soft place for him to land, and one whom she said, "I'll take him. He's perfect." And then she gave him to me. An 8 year old, registered Oldenburg - probably the nicest horse that I will ever own. He is the horse that Dolce was supposed to be, and he's mine. His name is Bob. There will be lots of pictures of him coming, and his whole story will get told here eventually. For now, I'm just calling myself blessed to have a friend like Erica and a horse like Bob.

Love. Blessings. Kindness. Joy. What a life full of happiness I have!
