Sometimes I struggle with childrens' birthday cards and I started out not knowing what to do with a card for my great-nephew. I bought these Tim Holtz baseboard dolls the other day and ran across a couple that I thought would make a good card for a 9-year-old, but what to do next? I ran across a tag on Pinterest that I liked and I used it as an initial design but came away with something quite different! I love how this turned out and I guess the reason why is that I love the Tim Holtz background paper I used called Abandoned. I diecut the piece behind the boy from the 8x8 stack and the smaller piece with the HB stamp from a scrap of off-white paper. I inked the edges of all the papers with TH Walnut Stain. The letters and number 9 are pieces I cut from TH Lost & Found collection. I placed them all on the background paper and felt it needed something more so I got my burlap ribbon, cut the side edges off and frayed the edges a bit. I then added the puffy balloon sticker I got from the Dollar Tree. Added the metal stars from Pam (FritillaryB) and stamped the corners of the card with little asterisks! I used foam squares under the boy, the 9 and the HB piece.

Thank you so much for looking!
