This is the core group of my dressage team - there's one person missing and our coach is taking the photo so obviously she can't be IN it as well.

We ride two days a week - Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons. We're pretty competitive, but we're also pretty laid back, and we have only one rule. The rule is "WE RIDE FOR FUN." We all work full time, we all have real life commitments, and we all consider our horses a hobby. But we also love setting and achieving goals and having a dressage team does that for us.

We compete once a month, compare scores, congratulate each other when we are successful, and encourage each other when our rides aren't great.

Last year, seemed like I was always on the "getting encouragement" end of things, Java being like she is - hating the whole idea of 20 meter circles and down the centerline halt at X and please be square when you do it.

I'm second from the left in the photo, on my new lease horse Titan. He's broke (unlike Bob) and agreeable (unlike Java). He is tremendously fun to ride and he seems to like me as well, so I'm hoping that this year I get to participate in the "giving encouragement" part of things.

And I know the A in the title is wonky. So are we!
