Full Snow Moon – 26 FEB 2021
The second full moon of the year. Since February is typically a time of heavy snowfall, native tribes of the north and east most often called this full moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this moon as the Full Hunger Moon, because harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult. The Ojibwe and Chippewa named this the Sucker Fish Moon after the suckerfish, an important resource for their winter survival.
