Hidden Journaling (Behind Photos):

January 28, 2007
I emailed you and asked you to send me some memories of spending time with Mam-ma and Pap-pa Bray, and here is what you sent me. ~ Mom

I remember going to their house and the first thing I would want to do is sweep their front porch, stairs, and sidewalk. We'd then, go look at all of the goodies in the garden and maybe even still a grape from Mam-ma's grapevines. I remember the lilac bush and the wonderful smell of lilacs which I still love to this day!! In the fall, the trees were full of beautiful colors, and later the ground would be covered with them. I would always go on a walk with Mam-ma down their brown rocky road. The rocks were brown and shiny. They were so cool. I loved to watch the squirrels play at their house. I would sit with Pap-pa out on the front porch, and we would just look out over the lake for awhile and talk. Sometimes we didn't talk, but that was ok, and I would always wonder what he was thinking about. I remember his raspy breathing, but it was comforting to me. We didn't play alot, but I always knew that he loved me by the way he talked to me and listened to me. He liked to watch me play. I remember also going down to their basement where I loved just
seeing his tools, and I was always intrigued by that little bell that read "Season Greetings." I still have that bell. At night Mam-ma would sit with me while I took a bath. I think she thought I was going to drown, if she left me. The smell in the bathroom was of medicine and lotion! My toys were stored in the closet of the room with red carpet. That is also where I slept. First, Mam-ma would read to me. My favorite book was "The Three Little Kittens." Then, she would sleep with me. Probably because Pap-pa snored so loud. In the morning, I always wanted to eat Raisin Bran, because Mam-ma would put extra raisins in it for me!
