I took some pictures in the Everglades and I think this is what they were! They had their wings drying off and from the back looked like these. I was going to ask you if they were the same thing as a turkey vulture but you answered that for me! I guess not! Fascinating that they don't have a voice box and poor smell! I would have thought all vultures would have a great sense of smell! Really love your fancy punchwork on this one and the little green leaves. Wonderful touch. Thanks for sharing these pages!

Another great bird LO. I'm envious of your photos! There is a black vulture roost just across the road from my house. Love to see them circling in the evenings and mornings. But it can be a bit unnerving when they congregate in your yard.

Interesting! I have called these birds "buzzards" all of my life. Your layout prompted me to do a little research to know how I was confused. Vulture is the correct name and the "hawks" we see are the true buzzard. Love how you tell about each bird as this old gal is still learning. :)

I'm with you, I love vultures (In fact I love all the "underdogs" like sharks, bats, crocodiles etc - pretty much every animal that gets a bad press) Your scrolled black border compliments the vulture's feathers beautifully. Look at the wing span of the guy in the bottom photo!!!! This is a very eye-catching LO, love it!
