Fort Davis 2018
Journaling:Constructed by 1869, this building served as the residence for the post commanders until 1891. Because of the extensive documentation available on Col. Benjamin H. Grierson, Tenth Calvary, and his family, the quarters are furnished to the period 1882-85, when the colonel was post commander.
There was also the shared Lieutenant’s quarters and the Officers’ kitchen and servant’s quarters on Officers’ Row that we could go in but didn’t at this time. We still had other things we wanted to see. We had no idea there was so much here!
