My friend convinced me that we just HAD to go downtown to see the cherry blossoms....at 6 am....6 am! I don’t think the birds were even awake yet. BUT, she was right. We beat the crowds (I mean, it WAS 6 am!) and we got to see the sun rise and the blooms open. By the time we finished walking around the basin and took all of our pictures, the crowds were starting so it was the perfect time to call it a day.
