I love the girly touch to this sporty LO. The title and that embellishment up top are great. I want a cricut! lol I love your accents on them as well. The diagonal lines really helps your eyes flow over the LO. Great job.
I like the diagonal tearing of the pps and their positions in the corners, too. I never would have thought of using two different pps, though. Yours works. I also like all the cute little personalizations, the tag with the bow, the MVP gingham ribbon, the flourish above the title, the doodling in the title, and especially the brads "sewn" together by the ribbons. Purple and green definitely go well together, but isn't yellow purple's complement? The main change I'd make is in spacing. Since so much of the big florals in the bottom pp is showing, my attention keeps getting redirected there. I'd pull the pic and tag down a cm. This will also give you a little more white space underneath your title to balance the white space above it. Also, I'd move Nicky's photo up a cm, still allowing for the photo corners to have some overlap. One last thing, I'd change the floral ring around the MVP to the same purple as your title and flourish, and doodle in that as well. Conversely, change the MVP letters to the floral print. I think it'd appear a little more balanced to me. It just seems that using the floral elements so closely together makes the upper right pp less significant, because it doesn't appear anywhere else.
Hi Robyn! I think you hit the challenge right on the nose! I love the vertical background, it brings dimension to this layout. I like the sports theme too. Great job!
Wanted to include the softball pics in Nicky's grad album, but I wanted it to be "girly" vs. too sportsy, so this is what I came up with. My compliment to the purple was green obviously. SHCG Weekly challenge entry #5 (complimentary color)
