My dad's birthday and Father's Day fall within just a couple days of each other, and sometimes even on the same day. I haven't seen him in some time (another state), so this is my card for him this year.

This is a book card (designed by Sam Calcott a few years ago called "Pretty Book Card). It has space to tell a story (which I did a few years ago for a cousin about bears and cameras) or just for a theme or fun. For this one, I just went with Nature as a theme. I did not put a panel on the back of the card, though I could have if I'd wanted. I just left the dsp to speak for itself on the back. I should have done some blending in the backgrounds, maybe, but my mind wasn't up for it.

I also resized the original design down to that of a 5 x 3-1/2 notecard size, so it will fit perfectly in the mini kit box for mailing. It will cost about $3.50 US to mail.

I had originally planned to watercolor with the ink pads again, but for some reason (old age, likely), things weren't coming out as planned. So, I switched over to using water based markers on my watercolor paper instead, and it worked pretty well. They actually blend a little bit using the watercolor paper and don't really streak at all. The pictures are a little dark, and the deer is *not* green at all, but shades of brown, and the chipmunk is shades of gray.

Most of the supplies are from Stampin' Up!, and I used Strathmore hot press watercolor paper, and archival inks to stamp the images before coloring.
