This stamp was a gift from my dental hygienist. I have wanted to use it in a card for her for a long time. Finally, it is done. The first card's background was made with Stamp Zia color sprays and lots of masks. The second background is described below. I found both in my stash.
CARDS: 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110-lb cardstock (card base) Judikins black cardstock (mat) Watercolor paper (background)
Focal Image: Unknown heron stamp (very old, a gift) Versafine Onyx Black Ink Ranger Super-fine Clear embossing powder
CARD 1: Watercolor paper (background) Stamp Zia Ultra Color Wash Jewels (sprays) Masks (used with the watercolor sprays) Hero Arts Birthday Message Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings (inside)
CARD 2: Watercolor paper (background) Dye inks and gesso Hero Arts Thinking of You Penny Black Elloquence (inside)
I made the background according to the Masterboard directions, pages 74-76 in the Spring 2006 issue of Take Ten. Basically, you just brayer different colors (or just use the ink pad) on the cs. After it dries, you paint over it with white gesso. I wasn't sure that I liked the way it turned out, but I loved the way it looked once I used it on a card.
