I LOVE what you did with the berries in the mason jars, so clever! Great job putting your kitchen papers together and using the doilies! Very inspiring! Gooseberries always make me think of Snow White and her pie for Dopey!
Absolutely love the mason jars with the photos of the berries! Bless your husband...a biker and a cooker! Your journaling is too funny and cute. You make me hungry for gooseberry cobbler! I understand the changing of the garden emphasis. Nothing better than fruits of your own labor.
Nothing better than homemade jams and jellies and pie fillings! Amazing that that you are getting so many plump berries from your garden. I think everything tastes better when it comes from your own back yard. My grandmother used to grow all her vegetables on her farm and they were so much better than store bought veggies. She would go pick them right before she started dinner. Awesome layout - I love the way you did the jar. This really shows off those beautiful berries! Great layout.
Love those canning jars and that jam looks yummy! Gardening is a never-ending job and we're already planning on changing things for next year (actually every time I'm out there watering I'm thinking of which plants to move around). By the way, we finally got some much-needed rain!
The perfect papers for this layout! I commend you for all your gardening work. I made jellies, canned veggies and froze veggies for many, many years (when my kids were growing up). Now that they're all grown, I just don't need to do that anymore. I never had a garden, had to buy all that I preserved...so you are definitely blessed! Great layout!
I am documenting our bumper crop of gooseberries and blackcurrants this year.
It is very rewarding and satisfying eating fruit and vegetables grown in and harvested from your own garden. For 12 years we enjoyed our veg plot. But we have decided to scale down and change the layout. Work to re-design the garden has already started, it will become "age" proof. The emphasis will be on more flowers and shrubs that are lower maintenance. We will still grow veg, but on a much smaller scale. And we will definitely keep our gooseberry and blackcurrant bushes!
