I'm also a button collector and this is a great way to get rid of all those pesky extra buttons. Can I lift this idea from you? Of course, you know I love the lace.
First of all, love your story! The second, your page is absolutely amazing! Love the sewing, the lace, the flower, the paper! The frame with the buttons is awesome!
Such a nice layout!! The frame for the program is perfect and I also first thought you glued all those buttons on the bottom. Also like the pretty flower!!
Those buttons look real! Love that you did some machine stitching on the layout. That music frame with the buttons is the perfect place for the journaling. You do a much better job at keeping up with things that go with the layout! (like the information from the Griffin Music Club!) Very nice layout!
What a wonderful story!!! I love the way that you've told it with the photo and stitches and all of those buttons!!!! (Love that layered flower, too...)
Journaling reads: Sarah’s piano teacher, Mrs. Angie Mankin, required her students to write an original composition each year. The composition would then be sent in to the local music club to be judged and hopefully sent on up to the next level. In 2004, Sarah’s went all the way to the state level and she won first place in the State of Georgia, Junior Division. Her song was entitled “The Wanderer” and she performed it for the local music club that May. She was fifteen years old at the time.
I've had this page done for over a year and it just keeps getting pushed back in the "to post" album. Anyhow, I used a lot of really old products here. I believe a lot of it is K & Company, including Life's Journey and Margo. I used the tiny attacher to attach the program at the top of the page and it slides into a pocket behind the photo. I cut the beige bg pp and then inked in brown and sewed it down to the page with my sewing machine. The scalloped border was cut with decorative scissors. The edges of the photo are sanded. The button frame was pre-made. The lace is some from my Mama's stash. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by :)
