Do you have a painted bkgd that you don't like and have set it aside? That's how my card started. I did this on my Gel Plate with acrylic paint and it wasn't pretty. I embossed it and then sanded it off, brayered some white paint over the raised areas. I love it now.
blogged here: I decided to transform this otherwise reject piece that was a practice sheet from a Gel Plate class I took in the summer.
I embossed it with an Evergreen Embossing Folder, then sanded off the raised areas. Since I still wanted more contrast, I used some white paint and my brayer to add the white highlights. Die cut from Simon Says.
