I was so happy to find a second lighthouse to visit on my mini vacation to Oxford, Maryland!

Built in 1879, Hooper Strait Lighthouse is a screw pile lighthouse, built on special iron pilings, which were tipped with a screw that could be turned into the muddy bottom. This square lightlhouse was later moved, by barge, to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland in 1966.
