Oh how I love reading the history behind the photos. WONDERFUL photos and you treated them so well in this layout. The composition is captivating - the timepiece, flowers and lace and the bit of pearl trim. You're an amazing artist.
What tough times for you mom! What a heartbreaking story. These pictures are wondeful and you carried through such a nice vintage look. Beautifully done!
This is my Mum and her 1st husband, Waldemar, on their Wedding Day, 21st October 1943.
Theirs was a war romance, Waldemar was on active service and they never really knew when they would see each other again. He had to apply for a special week's leave to get married. Soon after his regiment was on the move again and my Mum and her husband only saw each other when Waldemar was granted leave - which was not very often. He was captured just before the war ended and taken to a prisoner of war camp in Russia, where he died of a brain hemorrhage in 1948.
A bit of mixed media work, lots of lace and pearl embellies and a simple title.
