Hello Dearies!
It has been a time since last I wrote one of my short stories to accompany one of my cards. I hope you enjoy it and the card which is a 4"x9" slimline card. There are many layers to the card including a window of acetate; brick embossing; many, many die cuts and I used various mediums to highlight and color. And, of course, the lovely art deco image. Thanks for taking a peek..... And now for the story.

Allow me to introduce you to Charlotte. It is New Years Eve, 1928, and she is attending a party at the The Breakers, the famous Vanderbilt Mansion in Newport, RI. She was so excited when she received the invitation. But now, her beautiful face, a face that has been featured on the cover of every popular magazine, struggles to present a faint smile. Behind that smile is true fear as she can feel her heart beating right into her temples. She gazes out the window, and although the fabulous holiday lights, festooned along the wrought iron fencing, illuminated the immediate grounds, out in the distance she can see the silhouette of a person seemingly hiding by the shoreline. The sparkling moon, which should have been a delight to behold, against the starry sky, has become her spotlight on what she feared the most. It brought shivers through her body and yet, at the same time, her hands began perspiring and shaking. The last thing she recalls is trying desperately to not let go of her champagne glass as she became weak in the knees.
