This card is meant for my aunt who is in the hospital. I thought that it would be great to create a simple card that would be easy to see the colors across the room.

I started the card by creating the background paper--I stamped a background die onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat embossed it with silver heat embossing powder from Ranger. I sprayed the paper with water and generously added Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Green Parade and a little Atlantic Burst. Then I sprayed the powder with more water to help the powder move around. Later, after it had started to dry, if there were areas that were too dark, I sprayed a little more water and pulled off some of the color with a rag.

After the powder dried, I cut the paper with Gina K's Master Layout 2's largest die and set it aside.

Next, I turned to the rest of the card. I stamped a lily stamp in my stash and heat embossed it with more silver embossing powder. I then mixed some Picked Raspberry Distress ink and some water and used it to watercolor the flowers. I then colored the leaves with Lucky Clover Distress Ink that was also mixed with water. After the flowers had dried, I cut the flower with a circular die cut in my stash and then ink blended around the sides of the circle with more of the Picked Raspberry ink. I then set this aside as well.

The sentiment also was stamped and heat embossed with more silver embossing powder. I then trimmed it with my paper trimmer and distressed the edges. I then ink blended with more of the Picked Raspberry ink. I then decided to have the background match the sentiment by distressing the edge of the background panel.

To assemble the card, I added silver washi tape to the right side of the card panel, then added foam tape behind the floral circle and attached that to the background panel. Then I added the sentiment with more foam tape. To finish off the card, I added some clear and very light pink gems from Honey Bee Stamps to the card and glued the card panel to a white card base.
