I didn't plan ahead when assembling this card. I was excited that I had finished stitching the background. I was going to use it to make my usual A2 card so I cut down the one only scrap of cardstock I could find that matched the thread. First mistake. Then I had to cut down the size of the die-cut so it could be matted. Another mistake. I searched and searched for another piece of that cardstock, but it really was my last piece. I ended up making an A6 card by piecing together the two mats I had left to make something long enough to mat an A6 card. I attached the die-cut with a zillion tiny pieces of mounting tape. Third mistake. I realized that I could have made my own mat with white cardstock and ink. Sigh. Too late to take remove the die-cut. If I had stamped that background, I would have dumped this and started over. After stitching the background, there was no way I was going to throw it away.
