These look like photos taken not too long after my grandparents were married (grandma was a war widow) and my dad was 8 or 9. Looks like they were having fun taking photos in the field. Its kind of sad that, later in life, my grandfather had grown bitter with many disappointments in life. In any case, he provided for his new family, did the very best he could and, in his heart, was a very good man and (step)father.
