I remember being so concerned about whether Tristan would be able to have a strong bond with his baby sister with the 8 year age difference that separated them. I'd heard about distant siblings and I'd experience it first hand with my brother who is 10yrs my junior.
I couldn't have been more wrong if I tried; the relationship that they have is such a special one and I know that I'm blessed. Tris reads to her, he teaches her little things, entertains her on a whim and is oh so protective of her (he's declared that she's not dating...ever!). I wasn't expecting that from a boy with so much more living to do and so many other interests, but I'm glad I have it. Yes, they still have their "fights" and she knows exactly what buttons to push (like calling him dorkhead), but for the most part these two are more like the best of friends than sister and brother.
