I remember the novelty of this theater back when I was in high school - the seating is a combination of lounge, theater-seating and casual comfy chairs. Food is brought to your table or seating area and you can enjoy suds and grub while watching a film. And, in the 1980s, smoking was still allowed inside so it had an almost club-like feel. Back then I didnt know the historical significance of the theater. The black and white photo is one I found online from the late 50s or early 60s; the color photos are of the building today (I live within 4 blocks so I know this strip well!).
Glad I found this paper pad under a bunch of other paper pads - cute designs. The butterflies, birds and banner flags are fussy cut from one of those border pages.
