This is a layout showing my maternal Grandmother, Oma Anna, in our flat in October 1959. She came to visit to help my Mum during the first weeks after giving birth. I photocopied and preserved my Mum's writing on the back of one photo. It says: "Anna in the bathroom washing nappies".

I stenciled the square in the middle of the black cardstock and used strips of words from an 8x8 paper pad as a border. And because I absolutely love the retro look and anything to do with Mid-Century papers, I worked with a double-sided vintage sheet I found online, fussy cut some pieces and used them as ephemera, title and journaling pad.

It is such a shame that the photos are in black and white. I would give anything to see the colours of all the fabric and textile patterns! Seeing the "house coat" and apron made me chuckle. I remember my Mum wearing them in the house. It was a fashionable thing then which continued well into the 80s!
