The "stories" tag at the top of the page pulls out and has the following journaling:

Grandma Annie was born in 1894 and passed away in 1990. I dont really know how many times she married, but according to her obituary she was Anne Harper at some point. Maybe this was her birth name. Her sons are listed as having the surname Wells. Shes buried with a man with the surname Jackson. And, we know that her last husband was Jesse Buchanan, Jerrys maternal grandfather.
Here are a few of Jerrys and my memories:
When Jerry was in high school, he used to go over to Annie and Jesses house in town and mow their lawn, and they paid him $1.00.
Sometime in the early 70s while Jerry was in the Navy in Charleston, SC, his parents built the little house out behind their house for Jesse and Annie to move into and live out their remaining years. Jerrys daddy (BJ) got a permit to build a garage and then they finished it out inside complete with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath down one side, and a small kitchen, dining and living room down the other side. It had a front door and back door and the outside was block.
I first met Annie around the time Jerry and I married in 1977. One memory from that time was going by to see her and Jesse after we left our wedding. They werent able to come to the wedding but wanted to see us in our wedding clothes.
I also remember going over to visit Annie on several occasions and she would proudly take me all around the outside of the little house and show me her flowers and her little vegetable patch.
Jerry remembers Annie being a good cook one of her specialties was coconut cake.
As far as we know, she never drove a car.
I can remember her being a feisty little lady who spoke her mind and stood up for herself. I guess thats why she and Jerrys mother (Dorothy) sometimes butted heads.
One funny memory Jerry has was that every month when it was time for her social security check to come, Annie would sit out under their carport and watch for the mailman to deliver it. Then, she would get BJ to take her to the bank.
Jerry says that Annie was a good caregiver for for his granddaddy Buchanan in his last years, until he passed away in 1980.

I used Crate Paper's Restoration Collection for this page. I fussy cut the green border on the right side from pp. The title letters are from Basic Grey's Sugared collection. The rest is just odds and ends from my stash. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
