This is my first time to miss a cold Wisconsin winter...so I thought I'd commemorate it! It took me a looooong time to come up with the layout that fit well with the word art but I think I like how it turned out.
(The word art piece is one of the snowflakes in the upper right corner.)
After trying out a LumaPix scrapbook software, I decided to do the whole thing in PhotoShop 7. I'm glad I did! I'm learning that Photoshop has a lot more options than the "easier" scrapbook program. smile.gif

The journaling reads:
February 2007
When we left Madison, Wiscosin for Kona, Hawaii, there wasn’t any snow on the ground. People said it was the mildest winter they had seen in years. I felt cheated. ”Can’t I miss a colder winter?” I wondered.
About two weeks ago, the Wisconsin weather suddenly turned. Now it’s the coldest winter in years. The -32 windchill forced hardy principals to cancel school.
While I enjoy the sight of freshly fallen snow on evergreens, I much prefer the warm Hawaii sun to the brisk Wisconsin wind. And I don’t take it for granted, either.
Now we spend every weekend at the beach.
I'm making up for lost sun.
