Hi Friends, Today I'm sharing a mixed media canvas that I created for the Mixed Media Challenge. It's the first time I've ever worked with rice paper, and it was a lot of fun! My rice paper was only 8x11 but I wanted to create it on a larger 11x14 canvas. To accomplish this, I used script papers and added a frame boarder. I colorized the lady and bg pps, stenciled the lattice bg by mixing deep violet acrylic paint and texture paste. Then I added all the flowers and hand set all the bead work one at a time using a pair of tweezers (as shown in the close ups, that was a real labor of love)! For finishing touches I splattered black and white acrylic paints with a fan brush, lightly distressed the frame with black ink, then used antique gold wax around the frame and title frame. Thanks so much for dropping by and having a peek! ~ Hugs, Dawna
