This is a favorite pastime of my DD; planting herself at the picture window and waiting for her daddy's truck to pull into the driveway. JOURNALING: She sits there in front of the window. A study of patience and perseverance.
She sits there, propped up on pillows, staring intently at the driveway and
passing traffic. From the moment that I tell her that her daddy is almost here,
until the time that she sees him drive up, she waits. Sometimes it’s 5 minutes,
sometimes it’s 15-20, I’m amazed that a 2 year old can focus like that. I can’t
help but smile when she suddenly comes running through the house squealing,
“Daddy’s here!, Daddy’s here!”. They say that daughter’s have their fathers
wrapped around their little fingers, but in this case I can’t help but wonder if these
two aren’t just tangled up in each other. 9/2006
