It was so lovely to see that the old Easter tradition of hanging coloured eggs on shrubs and trees is still alive and well in my Mum's village. It is common to use blown out eggs for an indoor display, but for outdoors the eggs are now mainly made from plastic. The eggs on my Mum's tree were a mix of wooden ones (bought many years ago when I was still a toddler) and handcrafted ones (by me) made from polystyrene, paper scraps and flowers. During the first week after we decorated the tree two storms and heavy rain swept through the area, but all the eggs remained on the tree and survived unscathed and in one piece.
