Journaling reads: You are looking at the Maxent Canal, one of the levees that protects New Orleans. Because the city lies below sea level, this system of levees and canals is needed to keep it from flooding. The canals also provide important habitat for aquatic wildlife. The plants growing along the canal were so pretty. There were tall grasses, and pretty yellow flowers scattered down the sides. We saw lots of dragonflies, a huge fuzzy caterpillar, some water birds and an alligator. He was quite large and only a few feet from us. Needless to say, we didnt get too far from the car in case we needed to make a quick exit May 2010

The large scenes in the upper left corner and bottom right corner are cut from Ciao Bella's Delta collection and I used a corner rounded on them. All photo edges are sanded. The upper right corner was created using assorted stickers from my stash. The round metal embellie in the middle is really old and says road trip on it. Lastly, I added the two pink strips as filler and studded them with brushed silver brads. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
