DC has a couple of monuments dedicated to FDR (Franklin Delano Roosevelt) but this is my favorite. Adjacent to the MLK memorial, the FDR space winds through a series of walls and 4 alcoves. Each of the alcoves represent each of FDRs presidential terms. The ones pictured here are the Great Depression (line of people) and World War II. Throughout the outdoor exhibit are water features, statues and large quotations. The stones were carefully selected and have a rose tone, which makes this exhibit stand out from the other DC memorials that are marble-heavy.

The journaling pulls out from the little torn pocket on the bottom. The rocks are bits of 6x6 stone pp and clock was tinted with chalk.
