I made up the little verse at the bottom right. It reads:
Once again we had to head down
to a family reunion in a small southern town.
Aunts and uncles and cousins all came
and I only knew just a few by name.
But, that's how family reunions go...
awkwardly mingling with folks you don't know.

Hidden Journaling reads: Mamas family (the Paces) met every year or so for big family reunions. I can remember going to these events, even as a small child. I think the last one I attended was after Jerry and I were married. This reunion was held at Uncle Monroes house. I dont remember any of my siblings being there. I did know most of my aunts and uncles, but not so much my cousins because they were all years older than me some even had kids my age. This was not a very fun event for an extremely awkward, shy fourteen year old to have to attend. My saving grace that day was my sweet daddy being there pictured in the photo at the far right with me standing behind him.

This page was made using Simple Stories (SS) Summer Farmhouse, SS Homegrown, SS Homespun, SS 24-Seven and Crate Paper Story Teller. The top wavy border was made by drawing of the curves with a wavy ruler and then hand cutting it. The lower border and other curves were made using Thickers Alphabet Alignment Guides to draw and then hand cut. All borders were doodled with a Signo. The rickrack is really old - I think from my mother's stash- and attached to the page using Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. The sticker letters are also old and from my stash. The edge of the hidden journaling tag was punched with Fiskars Upper Crest. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
