While I was sifting through old photos with my dad, he mentioned one of my grandmas earliest jobs was working at Stamford Hall and he said it was hospital. It went in one ear and got lost in my head. So I Googled and found that Stamford Hall was the short name for Dr. Givens Sanitarium for the Treatment of Nervous and Mental Diseases, Opium and Alcoholic Habitues. Fast forward 70 years later and I was working for a mental health organization serving people with mental illness and addictions. How cool would it have been to compare her experiences with mine?
