When we were living in Japan back in the 1980s, I had the chance to meet Father Mujica, a priest from (France?) who made Japan his home. At the time, I didnt know just how significant he was to our family. When my dad was (a grad student?) in Japan, Father M was his priest. Later, when my parents became serious, Father M and my dads mothers priest in Easthampton started corresponding. When the time came, Father M officiated the wedding (my parents married in Japan). A few years later, when they still hadnt gotten pregnant, they discussed adoption as an option with Father M. He immediately put them in touch with a Catholic orphanage in Osaka.and the rest (me) is history.
