I wanted paper that evoked the feeling of winter but didn't want to overwhelm the layout so I started with a solid yellow background. I cut snowflake patterned paper into 3, 2 inch squares and 1 5 inch square. Cutting the squares in half from point to point, I placed them on the outside and inside edges (so the big square would meet in the middle). The photos were matted in coordinating solids and snowflakes were punched out of the same solids. Some snowflakes were flat on the page and some were raised. The title was cut using Cricut.
