Journaling reads: Daddy always had such a beautiful and productive garden. He grew butter beans, tomatoes, yellow crookneck squash, okra, peppers, cucumbers, peas, potatoes and green beans. Occasionally he would branch out and plant something odd... like eggplant. Even though he didn't necessarily enjoy eating all the veggies he grew, he love watching them grow and tending to them. In these photos he is showing off his pole beans and on the opposite page you can see his little sidekick, Honi. Photos from the garden of E. P. Perdue, Griffin, GA, circa 1987. The bottom border on the right hand page was fussy cut from Mintay's Country Fair. The bottom border on the left hand page was created by cutting a couple pieces of green for the hills and using chalks to define them. The sun was created with chalks. The "dirt" at the top of the journal block was hand cut and then chalked and little tools added. The page was then completed using Simple Stories Summer Farmhouse Ephemera Bits, Simple Stories Vintage Farmhouse Garden - Garden Bits, and Susan Branch Stickers. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
