OMG! 60 stitched backgrounds. I figure if I get one done that I have accomplished a lot, and that the recipient should feel special. Love how you matched the layers. Beautiful and special cards!
I have been stitching these backgrounds for a couple of months. I made over sixty of them and turned twenty-five of them into Christmas cards. (Five duplicates not shown) The die-cutting and layering of the die-cuts also took a long time, working on a few at a time. Tip: I found it easier to layer the trees if I replaced the bottom layer back into the negative space and left it there while placing the top layer on top. Once the trunk and bottom part matched up, it was easy to do the rest, just nudging some of the branches into place with tweezers. I searched through a ton of cardstock to find the perfect one to go with each background. Its only 1/16 inch wide, but it makes a huge difference. On one card, I needed to use a marker to color the mat.
