My mom recently passed and I inherited my childhood home from her. It is quite aged (130 years old!) and isn't fancy, but this place holds so dear to my heart. I had to express all the feelings with this mini mixed media canvas.

Beginning with some decorative paper from my stash, I decoupaged that onto my small canvas in the background. Next, I chose Town Buildings from Scrapaholics Chipboard and arranged them with some old Jolee's die cuts - trees and grass - from my old scrapbooking bin (thank God I never got rid of those, they work perfectly!) I live on a coastal NC island, so I added some Finnabair Art Stones (regular and mini) to give the texture of sand amongst the grass and finished it off with some of Tim Holtz tirelessly amazing Ideaology Chit Chat stickers.

For me this entire piece just embraces all the feels of small town childhood and both the past and future of a family home.

I do know that I am home
