What a fabulous page, loved the journaling and the story behind this page. I can see how this would be terrifying to a child...well documented and glad you faced your fear
First, really like the arch of photos.i still don't like clowns, a childhood trauma. So glad you faced the obstacle and made it through. Bless your parents for trying to give something you wanted years ago.
I also find some wax museums creepy and that would have been far too much for me. My episode was in the dungeon of horrors in Niagara Falls as part of Tussauds (and my parents were with me).
Youre so brave! Ive told you that before while looking at one of your layouts. I know what you mean about wax museums being creepy. Im sure I could never spend any time alone in one--Ro
Harpers Ferry, WV, is rich with history, including John Browns raid. However, this layout isnt about that history or is it pro or anti-anything. This staycation trip to Harpers Ferry was, in part, to face my childhood fear. When I was 10 or so, we went on a little day excursion to this quaint little town, which was thoroughly enjoyable. The wax museum looked intriguing but my parents, with a very tight budget, hadnt banked on the entrance fee so they bought just one ticket. Seemed harmless enough and I really wanted to go. What no one realized was the wax figures were animated. This was creepy enough with the less violent vignettes.the last vignette, however, was the hanging of John Brown (covered in the photos). Oh my gosh. I remember being completely frozen and unable to move and just crying. Thank goodness there was an older couple who ushered me out the exit to my parents, who were baffled. Fast forward 46 years, I finally went back. Still creepy but the mechanisms have long stopped working. (Whew!).
