Peles Castle
The palace was built by King Carol I
in the Carpathian Mountains near the
city of Sinaia between 1873 and 1914.
King Carol I used it as his summer
residence. The palace has over 170
rooms, each exquisitely decorated.
There is a heavy baroque influence
with hand carved woods, paintings,
statues, furniture and rugs from all
over the world.

Bran Castle is a national monument
and landmark in Transylvania, though
in reality it is a fortress and not a castle.
Bram Stoker based his character of
Dracula after Vlad the Impaler who is
believed to have been imprisoned there,
but never lived there. Known as
Draculas Castle outside of Transylvania
the claimed connection between the castle
and the Dracula legend is tourism-driven.

Brasvo is a picturesque town in
the Transylvania region of Romania.
It is surrounded by the Carpathian
Mountains and is only 16 mi from
Bran Castle. Brasvos beautiful
Downtown square is paved in
cobblestones and lined with colorful
baroque buildings, medieval Saxon
walls, bastions, and the towering
gothic-style Black Church
