Inspired by [url=http://digishoptalk.com/boards/showthread.php?t=34590&highlight=shine+sink]this thread[/url] in Chatter, I not only shined my sink, but did a LO for it, too. It was such a great idea! Journaling says, "I discovered Flylady years ago. I’ve never been much of a housekeeper - forever surrounded by clutter and embarrassed to have people in my home without a week-long panic cleaning session. It took me a while to get into her swing of things, but I found that it worked. However, like most things, I got lazy with it & it just kind of fell to the wayside. Then I’d try again and do well for awhile.....then I’d slide back again. It’s a shame, really, because the difference in my mood when I can keep my home in order is astounding. And she’s right - it’s all about loving yourself. Allowing yourself to be proud of even the simplest of tasks - like getting a handle on your home. Starting with something so simple & so manageable - shining your sink. When I saw a layout about this at DST, it triggered it for me again. How hard would it be to get off the computer for 15 minutes, go to the kitchen and shine my sink? So I did. Of course, 15 minutes turned into 30 as I loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the counters surrounding the sink as well. But it was 30 minutes well spent. Because when I went into the kitchen that evening & saw that I’d done it - I was proud. And I loved myself for doing. And that’s what it’s about. FLY -ing. Finally Loving Yourself. Yes, Christy, you can."
