I'm back with another take on the Summer Label Motifs. It's Summer at Christmas time in New Zealand, which made me think of using this lovely set for a Christmas creation. I pulled out my Blue Spruce cardstock from Spellbinders, embossed it with the fabulous Forevergreen Embossing Folder which was part of the recent 'Tis The Season Collection', to create the lovely textured base for this design. I sprayed the cardstock with a trio of Lindy's Inks in Mystic Malachite, Smoky Sapphire and Treasure Island Turquoise. These are all Moon Shadow Mists, so they have a brown undertone, which gives a really fun distressed finish. The shine in the light is magical and it brought out the texture in the embossing so beautifully. I used a lovely Christmas sentiment from the Spellbinders Home For Christmas Sentiment Set which I gold heat embossed. The lovely label shapes are from the Summer Label Motifs set. I didn't use the whole set for this creation, but I used a number of the elements including the leaves and I also used the beautiful Helleborus Flower Die by Susan Tierney-Cockburn to create the large bloom. The cream coloured foliage I used on this design, is actually from the Spring Label Motifs Die set. These sets work so well together. I layered the labels over a doily that I changed up from round to oval and distressed with Tea Dye Distress Ink giving it a more shabby chic finish. Then finished the design with some lovely sequins from Spellbinders.
