Hi There! This cobweb flip is a great way to add additional space to my junk journal. Heres how I made it.

Book Planning: When I created the pages for this book I scored some of the pages rather than cutting them to size. Some of the pages were scored at the bottom and folded up to create a pocket. Others, like this one, were scored at the top and folded down to create a flip. I just scored, the 12x12 scrapbook paper in half, then rotated the page 90 degrees and scored the page to the desired height. Next I clipped the first score line to create a flip on each page.

Spider Web Flip: I wanted my flip to hold either a printed 4x6 journal cards from the collection or a 4x6 photo, so I cut a strip of black cardstock 4 ½ inches wide.

Next I punched two of the corners on the 4 ½ side with a spider web punch, but you can use any corner punch you like.

Trimmed the flip so it was 6 ½ long from under the spider web punch. To help guide where to cut you can adhere the top of a 4x6 journal card, then trimmed the bottom edge. I measured the flip at this point, so I can use those measurements to cut flips for other pages.

To trim the flip I attached a strip of paper between the two spider web corners. Used a 1 ¼ punch to cut two black circles, and a 1 punch to cut two circles from pattern paper. They were layered, then attached to the flip for additional decoration.

Finally, I attached the flip to the page. Now you see the reason for only attaching the top of the journal card its so it can slip over the back side of the flip.

A few strips of paper and a sticker from the collection complete the look.

These flips are a great addition to any junk journal or mini album, because they allow me to add more photos and places to journal to a page.

Happy Scrapping!
