This is the first page of our engagement layout.
DH and I had planned a date at the beginning of the summer, soon after he moved up to be near me. We were both going to be really busy that summer and didn't know how much time we'd get to spend together. So he told me this was our "last date" for a little while...or something like that. He wanted to surprise me with the little details, he said. But he did tell me where we were going and that I should pack a picnic lunch.

The photo reads: Devil's Lake Park, Wisconsin; June 5, 2005; our "last date" before summer gets too busy.
Tabs read: Surprise--??, pointing to his gym bag of surprises he brought with him; Add Color - flowers from Jeanette, pointing to a bouquet of fresh flowers he picked from a friend's flower garden; Set Mood - candles & blanket. The vase, candles, blanket...even his laptop so we could have music...were all in his gym bag.

The rest of the story will be after the weekend when I have a chance to do the next page.
To announce our engagement to our friends/family, we both wrote short stories about our version of "how it happened." They're a page long each, so I've been trying to think of how to incorporate them into a page. No real clear ideas just yet.

I'm not sure if I like the look of the "how to get engaged" title. It feels "too digital" if that makes sense. Maybe just too shiny and shadowed. (It's "satin" and embossed.)
