Love this colorful layout featuring your impressive harvest! You must have been so busy this summer preserving all that food. Also, thanks for the tip about wheat straw. I am hoping to move to a place where I can have a productive garden, and I would love to give that a try.
Beautiful layout! What a fantastic garden, so much produce from all your hard work! Really like how you arranged all the photos, etc., on the two pages.
Awesome page! Love your journaling! I'm impressed by your and your husband gardening job! Wow! 1211 lbs. of food! This is unbelievable! My huge respect!
These photos are also from our 2018 garden. Journaling reads:
We have had vegetable gardens ever since we married, and tried several planting layouts. Most years, we planted the same way our parents did long rows. In 2018, we had one of the prettiest, most productive gardens wed ever had. Jerry had been retired for two years and had gotten into learning more about new ways of gardening. I designed this garden with shorter rows, running in both directions, laid out in a grid pattern with only a couple of long rows in the middle. Jerry also read that wheat straw is good for keeping weeds down and moisture in. So, we tried it. Its a little pricey, but well worth the cost and at the end of the season, it can be plowed in to amend the soil. In the end, this garden produced 1211 pounds of food and I was able to preserve 447 pints of it.
Our little garden helpers, Ruby and Sophie, are also in the bottom photo here. Also pictured are just a few of the veggies we picked, and several view of the garden. This is a very simple page. The red and the green strips are washi tape. PPs are from P13 Farm Sweet Farm. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
