Hi There! This Christmas junk journal is made from Christmas cards and envelopes.

The base album is envelopes nested together, while the cards are sewn into the signatures and used to decorate the covers. I also added some decorative envelopes in my signatures.

First I scored the envelope flaps at ¼, this gives me a place to sew in the signatures. Added a strip of washi tape to the gusset as reinforcement. The flaps are nested inside the pockets of the envelopes leaving the ¼ gusset outside the pocket, so I have a place to sew in the signatures. Next I sewed in the signatures using a mix of greeting cards, envelopes and paper. Now its time to start decorating the junk journal.

On the cover I used a decorative card with layers. Super simple and really pretty.

The first page is a back side of an envelope, so I decided to make it a double pocket. Cut a strip of scrapbook paper, then glued it on 3 sides to make a pocket. Its decorated with a couple stickers.

The insert for the envelope pocket is a 4x6 journal card from the paper collection. The booklet insert was made from two 3x4 cards. They were cut as one unit, then scored in half. Finally I stapled in some paper to make a booklet.

I love upcycling these old Christmas cards into a special Christmas journal.

I will be giving this junk journal to one of my instagram followers, so be sure to follow me at @ScrapbookWithLynda on Instagram to be entered to win this junk journal.

Happy Scrapping!
