I like the idea you were going for, and it may look better IRL. But if I'm just going by the photo then I'd have to say you need some solid strips woven in, or space out for a looser weave. I really didn't "catch the weave" until I looked closer. The only reason I looked closer was b/c I saw the uneven edges that caught my eye. I love blues and browns.
I like the pp ! The pics are priceless ! I think you should mat the circles in brown. I also think you can put brads or eyelets at the top of the circles. You can put somewhere his name and the date.
Whew! A lotta work, but great effect, and the pps all work well together. The circles can use mats, or brown doodle stitching, or a thin white line or white dots. I'd like the shape of the mute stamps in the top circle, but it is repetitive as it appears again below. I'd curve mute down on the top arc of the bottom circle, and curve button upward on the bottom arc of the same circle, so that the journaling is centered.
How cute!! I love the mute idea and the weaving looks awesome. I imagine it is to late but I would of actually put the bigger picture on the left hand side instead of the white. I agree that the circles need to be matted. Great job on the LO!!
How adorable is he! I have been wanting to try the weaving tecnique. I like the way this was done. I think I would have added a few more solid strips though. Love Robyns idea of buttons, otherwise, well done.
I love the weaves and all the different patterned papers you used! It looks soo good and FUN! I am sort of particular but I think your mattings should be the same size to tie the page in together. I love the whole "mute" thang but don't think it should be in another circle between the two pics. I think it says enough in the lower journaling block. I really like your hand journaling!
Tiffany, this is really cute. Lots of work weaving those strips (weave any baskets lately?) I think it's a little redundant to put "mute" on both of your journaling circles. On the upper one, why not try "pause" instead? I would also mat both of the circles. I can see dark brown around the bottom one... maybe white or a lighter blue around the top one. I can also see 3 small circle tags (I'm picturing the kind with vellum and metal frames, but any old circle tag would do really) running right underneath the larger picture all with a small binky sticker in the middle with blue ribbons either tied at the top or in "V"s that point up toward your darling little tyke (I think this would draw the eye into the picture a little more). Oh, and since your title has "button" in it, why not sprinkle a few buttons on there?
love love love the background with the weaving (i can definitely feel a lift coming on). the cirlce with just "mute" on it, i think it needs to be matted in white and maybe do the fake stiching around it (weaving, stitching..) or just some doodles or something.. just a little plane to me. love that background though.. awesome job
Wow, you wove all of those paper strips? I am way too ADD for that lol. I think this is really cute - the journaling is hard to read, but mine always is in photos and is very clear IRL so... who knows. Nice job :D.
"with four kids, all of them now talking... It is so nice to know that one of them still has a mute button." The background are scraps of paper that have been inked and woven. I can't remember where I saw this title but in all fairness I'll say the title is six degrees of scraplifting from somewhere.
