I've made my mom and sister something every year for the past several years. This year I used Prima's Strawberry Milkshake collection, also greatly inspired by Nadya Drozdova.
The hardest part of these projects is the gluing. You really don't want to go too fast, nor drag and "think" too much. Your glue should be strong but not drying instantly. That gives you a chance to fill in gaps with tucking in pieces here and there.
