I created this page in honor of the friendship I share with my best friend. I had a picture I liked from our first road trip and a more recent photo that placed us in the same position.
The journaling reads:
It happened all by chance, really.
We went to rival high schools. We were a year apart as school grades went, with you being older than me, five months to be exact.
We first met at my initiation into Rainbow. I don’t remember the date, but I do remember that I was shy and spoke to few.
Saturday mornings became our ritual. Working side by side we crafted many Rainbow scrapbooks, winning some and losing some.
College years came next, keeping you local and sending me two hours away. Our friendship grew in spite of the miles.
We always had a story! Our time spent together always insured a good time; each time creating a new cherished memory.
Marriage was next, at least for you. I chose the single life, dating more frogs than most, your support always constant.
Not sure what it was at first. You had an ability to listen and lend a shoulder regardless of the hour or the current crisis or saga.
Life moved forward and with it brought your two angels, Lauren and Ryan. I was the proud Godmother – spoiling when I could.
Our friendship grew over the years. We had the ability to read each other’s mind and finish each other’s sentences.
We celebrated milestone birthdays together, reminiscing and laughing at the adventures of our younger years.
So much time has since passed, that first meeting over 25 years ago. We’re still friends, we’ll always be friends – just like sisters.
Our friendship is something that I treasure everyday. My life would not be complete without you and the bond we share.
It happened all by chance, really.
